It seems like for months my life has been an absolute whirlwind! My life has changed drastically over the course of these last six months, and I’ve gone through what seems like every emotion possible. Between losing my grandpa unexpectedly, my middle sister getting married a couple weeks later, finishing planning our wedding, working full time, getting married to the man of my dreams in August, eagerly awaiting the completion of our home renovation projects and living the dreamy married life – there has been for sure a lack of sleep and a little sanity as I try to make some new life adjustments.

I know that life is a journey and these phases come and go so I just had to ride the wave knowing each day would get easier, especially with the loss of a loved one. I can’t help but feel this inkling of pain for the future and missing the past as each day goes by without him. My brain felt pulled in so many different directions and the part that fuels my creativity was just completely exhausted on our wedding and work. But after months of struggling trying to find a balance, it finally feels like I’m getting back into a routine.  Our wedding was a complete dream and I’m seriously so sad it’s over, I miss the planning and can’t wait to share all the details with you guys soon!

When fall rolls around, I always tend to go back to the basics. Fall is without a doubt my favorite season. I’m not a huge fan of the cold, but with the weather finally cooling down I can finally wear chunky sweaters. I find myself excited for the cooler mornings and the idea of leaves falling in the weeks ahead. I’ve been eagerly waiting to stock up on some new fall items since it’s has been a little warm to wear sweaters in the afternoon.

This year I’ve been drawn to a fresh color palette but it’s always refreshing to stick to what I know works season after season. A great pair of jeans, long cardigans, easy dresses, cozy sweaters, a denim and leather or suede jacket, and booties– all items that can be mixed and matched to create a bunch of outfits. My go-to prints in the fall are always stripes and leopard. I love the classic combo of these two together because they always make an effortless statement. I always love a good chunky sweater combined with distressed skinny jeans – these are my newest pair and they are seriously so comfortable and affordable and some cute suede mule slides because it’s an easy look that can be worn for any occasion.

I’d love to know what you’d like to see more of moving forward. I don’t want to cloud your feeds with posts that I threw together at the last minute. I’m striving for quality over quantity and I’m going to be focusing more on lifestyle rather than fashion based posts – everyday living, home décor and inspiration, some beauty and style with hints of wedding and entertaining posts! I’m  also working on a full site update that I can’t wait to share, so stay tuned!

Thanks for always hanging by when things get slow! I hope you all have a great week!
